world poultry science

Aviagen has provided significant support to the Czech branch of the World Poultry Science Association (WPSA) at the organization’s 15th annual conference in Brno.

The conference was attended by more than 100 technical and veterinary professionals from around the Czech Republic; speakers from eight different countries, including two from Aviagen, covered the industry’s most pressing topics over the course of two days.

Among the speakers were Jim McAdam, Aviagen's UK breeding programme director, who discussed the importance of a balanced breeding programme, and Vlada Zima, Aviagen's sales and technical manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, who presented the findings of a collaboration between Aviagen and the University in Saskatchewan in Canada on lighting programs for broilers.

Vlada Zima commented: "The WPSA plays a crucial role in telling the story of poultry science to the industry as a whole. They help the poultry industry to advance knowledge and provide technical support – and we were delighted to be asked to take part in the conference in the Czech Republic.

"The Czech market is growing and the industry now has a well-established network of poultry experts. Our role in helping the market grow is two-old: we provide the products that are best suited to the marketplace, and we offer the highest quality technical support in the industry."

Aviagen has an ongoing commitment to providing on-the-ground technical support for the poultry industry around the world. It continues to offer ongoing support, but places great value in events such as those arranged by the WPSA, which have the specific aim of advancing knowledge and understanding of all aspects of poultry science.
